Year 6 Transition Information 18th June 2021

It has been decided that unfortunately we are unable to run our face to face transition days due to Covid restrictions. We will be liaising with all feeder primary schools regarding the virtual programme that we will be offering in its place.

Over the next seven years we guarantee your child a first-rate education. At KSA we provide opportunities for both academic and personal development. There is much to recommend KSA:

  • Pupils speak warmly about their ‘supportive teachers’.
  • The learning environment for pupils promotes their learning well. Pupils respect their school.
  • Pupils believe that many of their teachers ‘have a heart’. This helps them to feel safe. If problems occur, pupils are confident that their teachers will sort it out quickly.
  • Pupils value the ‘hub’ as a place of assistance and care.
  • Pupils take advantage of the wide range of after-school experiences on offer. They appreciate the opportunity to learn new things and visit new places.
  • The learning environment for pupils promotes their learning well. Pupils respect their school.
  • Sixth-form students are positive role models to the younger pupils. They are a credit to the school.
  • The sixth form have been recognised nationally by receiving a top award for its outstanding KS5 results by the SSAT

Digital copies of all letters to year 6 parents can be found below:

Frequently Asked Questions

I have questions about the admissions process or an appeal, who should I contact?

If your query is a general one about the application process or an appeal, please go direct to the admissions team at Northamptonshire County Council and do not call the school.

What are the terms dates for the 2021-2022 academic year?

How do I purchase my child’s KSA school uniform?

We are proud of our young people and encourage them to be proud of their school and their community. One key aspect of this is that all of our students will wear a smart uniform. This promotes safety, a sense of community and demonstrates that students are ready to work.

Students must be impeccably presented in the correct school uniform at all times. The KSA uniform consists of a black blazer with school logo, a purple striped tie, a white shirt or blouse and black trousers. Girls can choose between a pleated skirt or trousers.

Our supplier address is: Karlsports, our uniform suppliers also have a shop: Unit 7, Trafalgar Road, Kettering, Northants, NN16 8DB,

Detailed prices, descriptions and an on-line ordering facility is available from our supplier Karlsports on their website. Click here to be directed to the KSA section on School Uniform.

What equipment do I need to provide for my child?

All students will be required to bring, as a minimum, the following items to the Academy each day in a pencil case:

  •        2 pens

•         2 pencils

•         1 rubber

•         1 pencil sharpener

•         1 ruler

•         Students will also be required to bring a calculator to the Academy and it must be a Casio fx85 or Casio fx83

•         Current reading book for DEAR (Drop Everything And Read), of course they will have access to the school library too

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you all to KSA and will continue to update you on news and events to ensure your child feels supported and confident throughout the transition process.
