Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to Kettering Science Academy

Whether you're visiting us as a current parent or exploring KSA for the first time, thank you for taking the time to find out more about our school. Choosing a secondary school - and choosing to stay - are some of the biggest decisions a family makes. You want to know your child will be understood, supported and stretched. That’s what we’re here for.

Who we are

Our belief is simple: kids do well if they can. Our job is to create the right conditions for every child to thrive, regardless of their journey, background or needs. That starts with more than just a sense of belonging. At KSA, children need to know they matter. They need to feel safe, seen, heard and genuinely valued.

Inclusion, for us, isn’t an add-on: it’s who we are. Our children come to us with a wide range of experiences, needs and strengths, and we see that diversity as something to value. Some may need specific support to thrive. Others may already feel confident and secure. No matter where they begin, we work in partnership with families to get it right.

We’re building a culture of trust, where every child feels they belong, not just where they’re allowed to be. That belief is deeply personal to me, shaped by both my experience as a leader and as a parent. We’re working every day to build a school system that doesn’t ask children to fit in, but instead meets them where they are.

We know we won’t always get everything right, and we won’t always agree. But we will always listen. You know your child best, and we learn as much from you as we hope your child learns from us. We value honest, respectful feedback, and we believe the strongest schools are built on real partnership with families. That’s why your voice matters.

Our expectations

Our school culture is built on three clear expectations: be ready, be respectful, be safe. These guide how we learn, how we treat each other, and how we show up as a community. They create the structure children need and the consistency that helps them feel secure.

What we offer

Success looks different for every child. That’s why our curriculum is designed to support a range of pathways and ambitions. For some, that might mean A Levels and university. For others, it could be a vocational route into a skilled trade, a creative industry, or a technical career. Whatever your child’s goals, we’ll help them build the knowledge, confidence and qualifications they need to get there.

Helping children grow

We care just as much about who our children become as what they achieve. That’s why we focus on character as well as curriculum. We encourage curiosity, resilience and kindness in everything we do from classroom routines to wider enrichment. Every child is supported to find their voice and grow into the best version of themselves, both in and beyond the classroom.

Our staff and trust

Our staff are passionate, expert and united by a shared belief that strong relationships, clear boundaries, and an unwavering belief in every child’s potential create the best conditions for learning. Whether in the classroom, the office, or on the gate each morning, every adult here builds strong connections that help children feel safe, valued and ready to succeed.

As part of the Brooke Weston Trust, we work in partnership with a network of schools who share our values. Our staff and children benefit from wider opportunities and a real sense of belonging to something bigger.

A final word

Whether you’re just starting to think about secondary school, already part of our community, or looking for a place where your child can thrive - we’re glad you’re here. You’re welcome at KSA.
