Work Experience
All of our Y12 students will participate in a work experience placement, usually for 1 week a the start of July.
Year 12 Work Experience
All Year 12 students are required to complete a five-day work experience placement, usually during the first week of July. Exact dates will be confirmed with students when arrangements begin. Placements should cover normal school hours, although some employers may request a full working day.
Students are strongly advised to begin looking for a placement as early as possible, particularly those interested in medical or veterinary careers, as these placements are extremely competitive. Parents and carers can play a valuable role by speaking to friends, family, or work contacts who may be able to help secure a suitable placement.
Finding their own placement allows students to explore career interests, gain real-world experience, develop key employability skills, and build confidence in a professional environment. Work experience also strengthens future applications for employment, apprenticeships, and university.
